Donegal on December 7th 521, the son of a chief related to several of the princes then reigning in Ireland and in the west of Scotland<\/p>\n<p>St Finian:\u00a0 Born near Strangford Lough Co Down (495-589AD) \u00a0He\u00a0was the founder and first abbot-bishop of Movilla, near present-day Newtownards, Co Down, where there is still a graveyard and ruin of an abbey. His most distinguished disciple there was St Colmcille<\/p>\n<p>St Molaise:\u00a0 Lived in the 6th century and credited with bringing Christianity to North Sligo\u00a0little is known about him as there is no written record of his life, he is reputed to have pronounced the banishment on St Columba in 563AD<\/p>\n<p>Psalter:\u00a0 Illuminated manuscript containing the Book of Psalms<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Glossary of words\/terms used on the site.
